Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose and scope

This AUP exists to keep Signet safe, lawful and trustworthy for everyone who relies on it, and to protect the legal integrity of documents signed and information shared through the platform, including our Data Rooms feature.

2. Prohibited content

You must not upload, send, or store content through Signet that:

• is unlawful in the jurisdiction where it is created, sent, shared or received;
• is fraudulent, forged, or intended to deceive, including documents you know to be inaccurate, backdated or altered with intent to mislead;
• infringes another person's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights;
• is defamatory, harassing, discriminatory or hateful;
• contains child sexual abuse material or content exploiting minors — we operate a zero-tolerance policy and will report such content to the relevant authorities;
• contains malware, viruses or other harmful code; or
• facilitates money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion or other financial crime.

3. Prohibited conduct

You must not:

• obtain a signature from, or on behalf of, someone without their knowledge, authority or genuine consent;
• impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organisation;
• share access to a Data Room, or a document awaiting signature, with anyone not authorised to see it;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, Data Room, or system, or circumvent authentication or security controls;
• probe, scan or test the platform's security other than through a responsible-disclosure process we have agreed to in advance;
• reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract Signet's source code, except as permitted by law;
• send unsolicited bulk sign requests or use Signet as a spam or mass-marketing tool;
• use automated means to access Signet other than through our published API and in accordance with its terms; or
• overload or attempt to disrupt the availability of Signet.

We may suspend or terminate accounts found to be in breach of this section, at our discretion, in accordance with Section 8 below.

4. Electronic signatures — know the limits

Some document types are excluded from electronic execution, or need a higher signature assurance level or a wet-ink signature, under the law that applies to them — for example wills, certain powers of attorney, some property and land transactions, and some court documents. You are responsible for checking whether a document is suitable for electronic signature under the law that applies to it (see Section 9 of our Terms of Service). Do not use Signet for a document type it is not suited to.

5. Export control and sanctions

You must not use Signet in violation of applicable UK, EU or other trade sanctions or export control laws, including on behalf of a person or entity subject to sanctions.

6. Fair usage

Where your plan has usage limits, please stay within them or upgrade. We may throttle or limit unusually heavy or abusive use that risks the stability of Signet for other customers.

7. Reporting violations

If you become aware of a breach of this AUP — including a document sent without proper authority, or suspected fraudulent use of Signet — please tell us at legal@signetdocs.ai with the relevant document or account details.

8. Enforcement

Depending on the severity of a breach, we may issue a warning, remove or disable access to specific content, suspend or terminate the relevant account, and/or report the matter to law enforcement or another relevant authority. We act proportionately and, where practical, give notice first, except where immediate action is needed to prevent harm or to meet a legal obligation.
